A state law enforcement officer from Lubbock was behind bars Thursday, accused of indecency with a child, following an investigation by the Texas Rangers.
Rangers arrested Gary Wayne McMillian Thursday at his west Lubbock home, according to jail records. McMillian is a captain with the Texas Department of Public Safety stationed in Lubbock and was suspended following his arrest, the agency confirmed. He began his DPS career in 2003.
McMillian is charged with two counts of indecency with a child by sexual contact, DPS said. He remained in the Lubbock County Detention Center late Thursday with a bond set at $50,000.
No additional details about the investigation were immediately available.
