James Wilkinson, 74, was arrested and accused of possessing at least 500 files that showed child sexual abuse material, according to court records obtained by EverythingLubbock.com.
Court documents stated someone bought a home from Wilkinson in 2023. According to court records, the new owners were cleaning out the home when they found VHS tapes and DVDs in the bottom of an entertainment center. When they saw the covers and titles of the tapes, the new owners were concerned they found sexual content that showed children, so they called police. After police collected the evidence, the owners found CD hard drives and a laptop, court records said.
Wilkinson was indicted for Possession of Child Pornography. Court records stated Wilkinson had “500 or more visual depictions” of child sexual abuse material. Wilkinson was taken to the Lubbock County Detention Center and posted a $50,000 bond. As of Tuesday, Wilkinson no longer remained at the jail.
